How Did We Receive Power?

I am writing this post because it will help both those who have received the power of Holy Spirit and those who have not. This is not an extensive article on this subject though.

Now, to understand the point I want to make here I need to lay the foundation as to when the Holy Spirit comes in to a believer. Rom 8:9b says, "Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his". You know that this is not talking about those who have not received the power. This is talking about anyone who is not born again. If you are not born again you are none of His. You don't belong to the family of God yet. You are still an alien. But if you are born again, you have the Spirit of God in you already because no one can be born again without the Holy Spirit. Two things happened on the day of Pentecost.
  1. They got born again (the day of Pentecost was 50 days after the resurrection as the advent of the law was 50 days after Passover in Egypt. Pentecost day was the day the Church of Christ was born by His Spirit). It wasn't possible for anyone to be born again until Holy Spirit was sent to dwell in man, though He had been with man for long.
  2. They received the power of Holy Spirit. Acts 1:8. They got born again that day and received power at the same time. This still happens today. People could get born again and receive the power at the same time, Acts 10:44 or later.
Now, this shows that we all received Holy Spirit at conversion. Now, Did We "Receive" Power? Yes and no! Confused? The word "received" here is lambano in Greek and it means to apprehend, acknowledge or accept. The reason why I said no is that we didn't receive Holy Spirit after we got born again as if He's just coming into us for the first time. No He got in the very moment we got born again and never to leave regardless of whatever happens.

Let me explain in this way: You could have a quest in your house for months and not receive him though he eats you food and sleep under your roof. Though he is with you  but you have just not accepted him. Meaning he's not yet welcomed. But the day you accept him in your mind, both of you will start flowing and relating together. Relationship starts that day. That is how the Holy Spirit is in us when we got born again if we didn't receive Him and His power simultaneously like on the day of Pentecost. The point I'm making here is that, He's  already in you and you don't need to receive Him as if He's coming in for the first time. "Receive" Him in Acts 1:8 simply means, acknowledge and accept Him because He is already in you.

The reason why I' writing this is because many people have made a great deal of fuss about receiving the Holy Spirit. Someone said you can't get the power of Holy Spirit until you are sanctified. And I said no sir! Were you sanctified when He came into you? No! He came in to sanctify you. He came in to make you Holy! If you are born again, if is too late to have Him come in into you because He is already in the you. All you need to do is to accept Him by faith. That's all! How do I accept Him by faith? You talk to God about it. How? For instance, you can just say, "Father, I thank you for given my Holy Spirit. (Why? It is because He's in you already. He won't fall from heaven above). Now I receive (or accept) This power into (or in) my life in the name of Jesus. Thank you Father, in Jesus name". Period! So what? Then open your mouth and say what He puts in your mouth. See, another error that people preach is that they are waiting to be zapped and have some feeling or be thrown on the floor and have all those physical manifestations. Hey! You really don't need that. If you have those goose pimples and the warm sensation, that's good but don't build your faith on feeling. Use feeling but don't let it use you. "We walk by faith not by sight". "Receive" in Acts 1:8 is in active mode not passive. You have got to be active with it. Take a step of faith and you will speak in tongues right there. It is just too easy! I bet that it's easier than receiving healing or whatever. The easiest so far!

Now, if you are born again, He is in you already. If you have not received His power, you can right now. Just do what I said above.

I hope this helps you some how? Post your testimonies and comments not arguments in the comment box below.

God bless you.

God's Power Is Mechanical Not Theoretical

I believe if believers will get some truth right we will begin to see God's sons walking in the power of the Holy Spirit more than we've ever seen in the history of the church. God is the Word Himself but never a theory, a non-practical or non-demonstrative word. His word is power and it’s always demonstrated. His power is quite mechanical than what the church thinks today. We have a great number of word talkers in the church today than word demonstrators. God never expect His children to be talkers only but demonstrators also. Not only has He created us to demonstrate His power but He expects that we demonstrate it. But most preaching today are mere theological theories and philosophy that carry no divine dynamite. God expects that we talk and demonstrate what we say. Paul proves this by saying that he’s not interested in mere talks but in demonstrating the power of the kingdom. So do I. In fact I hate talks that are void of demonstration - proof. 1Cor 2:4 “ And my s...

Truth About Divine Healing And Anointing.

Not all sickness and disease are caused by sin but returning to sin can give spirits of infirmity chance to come back into anybody. ·  Whether we like it, aware of it or not, sickness and disease will always want to come back because devil doesn’t give up.
